Type 12a (c.1314-c.1317) - Spink 1458; North 1063/1
Group 12 coins are readily identifiable by their unusual crowns, which are completely different for each type. The 12a crown has a central fleur of ‘strawberry leaf’ appearance, the side-fleurs are Y-shaped, and the ornaments are pellets or trefoils of small pellets.

Type 12b (c.1314-c.1317) - Spink 1458A; North 1063/2
Group 12 coins are readily identifiable by their unusual crowns, which are completely different for each type. The 12b crown has a cruciform central fleur with diamond-shaped arms, the side-fleurs are Y-shaped with diamond-shaped inner leaves, and the ornaments are spearheads.

Group 12 coins are readily identifiable by their unusual crowns, which are completely different for each type. The 12c crown has a cruciform central fleur with heart-shaped arms, the side-fleurs are bifurcated with heart-shaped terminals, and the ornaments are also heart-shaped.
